Omega-3 Vegan offers valuable, purely plant-based omega-3 fatty acids, sustainably obtained from the microalgae Schizochytrium sp. and the seeds of the field stone seed (Buglossoides arvensis). Algae are a good plant-based source of omega-3 fatty acids. The marine algae Schizochytrium sp. produces EPA and, above all, DHA. The seeds of the field stone seed (Buglossoides arvensis) contain in particular the omega-3 fatty acid SDA (stearidonic acid).
Omega-3 fatty acids are unsaturated fatty acids that are essential for the human body, i.e. they cannot be produced by the body itself. The two omega-3 acids EPA and DHA are the most important. They are important for the brain, heart, eyes and immune system, among other things.
